I've received a bunch of emails from Facebook asking to verify my email address for my facebook account I just opened.  I haven't opened a facebook account...  Plus a bunch of new friend requests.  I guess it's time to change my FB password.  Really I'd just close the damn thing if there wasn't pressure from friends and family to have one.  As is I never get on except when I get a message through it.

If a link is provided, probably not Facebook but a phishing attempt.

It's a link to facebook.com, even the actual target and not just the link text.
