It's over for Drew Storen -- Or is it?
« Topic Start: April 12, 2013, 10:40:23 PM »
He's done. Like Brad Lidge except without the success before the playoff meltdown. He'll never recover, especially not here.

At least he can count on positive fan support.

Doesn't seem to help. He should be grateful they didn't boo his ass out of the park on Opening Day when they introduced him. Fans gave him a second chance and now he's pissed that down the drain after blowing a save in epic fashion to our division rivals at home.

he was so pumped to get out there tonight, but he looked like a deer in the headlights after the game got tied up.

He looked scared crapless to me all inning. Those pitches to Heyward were not close. He's batting under .100, and Justin Upton is on deck. The game should have ended with Heyward for better or for worse.

Well if there is one thing the interwebz peanut gallery is qualified to comment on, it is underachieving mediocrity.

So take that Storen, we know your shtick...no place to hide!

K-Rod is a free agent.  We should look into him.

Storen got out of the 8th.  he's just not used to sitting through the bottom of the 8th and coming back out in the 9th after gearing up for a hi-lev spot the prior inning.

As I posted in the GDT, if you want to get on Davey, get on him for burning out Soriano in the ChiSox series so he was unavailable for the 9th.  We are in stronger position if we don't deplete the ammo before a divisional series against the team that is likely to be our main competition for 1st.  Soriano available, then there is no harm bringing in Storen when Clipp gets wild and can't finish the 8th.

The bullpen might not be in mid season form, but you certainly are.

You do realize that Brad Lidge won a World Series AFTER that playoff meltdown, right?

Sanity.

This problem will only compound as the season goes on.  Captain Hook has to use his starters more effectively.

20/20 hindsight.  You use the closer when there is a save on the line, regardless of the opponent.  When the closer is unavailable, you deal with it.  But you don't not use your closer when he is available and needed, because you never know what the situation will be the next day.

Sure.  And if he appears in 120 games, who cares?  He won't be needed for the playoffs.
