It's time for this team to grow up if they want to be a championship team, and to be champions, performance matters.  It's fun when a team is on the up swing and marginal players get to ride the wave, but to take the next step players that don't add to the mix have to be replaced with those that do.

Soriano doesn't seem to be a socialite, and he's not a "shutdown" closer, but he is much more effective than Drew and I don't think he's poisoned the clubhouse.  Peoples' feelings get hurt when they get held accountable for poor performance and Drew's performance has been pretty poor.

Clip needs to figure out if he wants to win a championship or if he wants to hang out with his friends on a team that muddles along.  Moves the front office makes won't always work, but they always need to keep trying to improve...and they should make any move that adds value.  If Clip hasn't figured that out, then maybe he's not a championship player.  He's good, but relievers are not all that difficult to get, and I'd rather have guys who want to win than want a social club.  His trade value is pretty high right now, maybe he should go.

Right move but a sad one nonetheless.  Was at the early game yesterday and he just didn't look good at all.  I was actually really impressed with Mattheus even though he got hit around a bit in the 9th.  First, he's the kinda guy you only expect to get one good inning out of when he's in his proper role and he gave us that and second, it was his first outing back from the DL so there was bound to be some rust.  He definitely looked like he had some good stuff going in the 8th and just kinda lost it in the 9th.
