FanGraphs is going to do a meta-prospect ranking using FG, BA, BP, Keith Law, John Sickels, and "fan sites," and I realized we need to get our WNFF rankings up to speed and posted in one place so we can be a part of it.

Easiest just to swap him out with Meyer in my mind (ie, 3d).

Healthier than Giolito and Purke.  Top 5 is easy.  Skole is a harder call.

Cole is two years younger than Alex Meyer. So while he struggled last season in the California League, Meyer struggled in the SEC at the same age.

EDIT: Keith Law, John Sickels and Marc Hulet (Fangraphs) all rate Cole as a top 100 prospect. Meyer is ranked by Baseball America as well and generally about 15 spots better than Cole.

I initially said 8 but in looking at the list, I'd slot him in at 4 if not 3. I think Giolito might have more upside but Cole has already pitched and is much closer to making the Show. Perhaps its 3a and 3b?

Totally agree; a lot more could go wrong with Giolito but a lot more could go right. Depends on your philosophy. I tend to think the surgery won't affect him at all, but there's still a ton of risk with any high school arm.

FWIW, Sickels has him 3d, ahead of giolito and Skole, but all 3 are Bs in his rating system.  He has both Rendon and Goodwin as B+, with Rendon #1.
