Grouper?  I thought they usually hang out in the Ritz lobby bar when A-rod visits.

So who starts for them?  Young, Revere, and who else?

Darin Ruf/John Mayberry/Laynce Nix. Mayberry sucks and Nix is a bench player, so it should be Ruf.

Ruf is sort of their version of Tyler Moore.  Revere is a good center fielder but he can't play all 3 outfield spots at once.

Not that this means all that much now, but Delmon Young was a beast in the minors.  Never amounted to much in the bigs, but as a 19 and 20 year old in the high minors, he was ridiculously good.

I think what this does is bring the outfield's close in production between Nats and Braves.  I think Span > B.J. Upton, Harper = Heyward, Werth = JUpton.  Offensively the Braves have more home run power there, but Nats have less K's thanks to Span.  Both are stupid athletic and it will play well.

What is bad for the Braves is the loss of Prado, and now the lack of a leadoff hitter falls on Andrelton Simmons, much like what the Nats did to Desmond and everyone else on the roster.  I think there will be an issue there considering they don't have a Werth like guy who can slot in if Simmons falters.

Werth=Upton??

Maybe if Werth was five years younger and in his prime.

Maybe if Upton hits a game 4 walkoff and helps transform a clubhouse.

Both outfields will be worth around 12 WAR, I'm guessing.

I think Bourn/Prado vs. Upton/Upton is more or less a wash, but even if the Barves haven't improved from last year, they're still a 90+ win team and pretty good.  The rotation looks pretty weak but the bullpen looks crazy strong.

Yes.  If JUpton doesn't "figure it out", I expect to see both of them produce similar lines.  .280/.360/.450.  Ok, so maybe I give the benefit of the doubt to JUp and say Werth hits .260/.340/.430.  Still I want to be wrong with Justin Upton even if he isn't on this team.  If he is "supposed" to be an MVP guy, well go win the damn thing.  More and more it seems like he is much like his brother was in Tampa, kind of a low effort player.  Maybe it works for him in Atlanta, but until he "gets it", it is only a pipe dream.

I fell shoveling snow yesterday. Glad I didn't rupture my spleen.

Try it without the crampons on next time.
