Someone was telling me about deep fried oreos...I think they were at some fair in a hick place like Mississippi or Scotland where people batter and fry everything in sight.
There's a carnival at the Bull Run Festival of Lights in Centreville (you can see it from I-66) - they've got a stand with deep fried Oreos, plus they still have Twinkies (!) and they deep-fry those too. They're open every night through the 31st
