Alright, fess up.   Who's gonna miss Twinkies and the rest of the Hostess lineup?   I know I will.   Twinkies were a staple of my school lunches in the early 60s'.

I don't believe I've had a hostess/wonder bread product in over 40 years. I was more of a cheetos/ toll house cookie stoner.

Used to eat a whole bag of Chips Ahoy.   :P    Still like the crunchy Cheetos.

I'm ordering Twinkies for my kids on eBay.  They've never tried them and this is likely their last chance.  Wish my Dad had done the same for me when they stopped making Quaaludes.

Twinkies aren't going anywhere. Flowers Foods or Bimbo Bakeries USA are expected to buy the brand.

I hope somebody buys the brand/recipe.   Folks were buying Twinkies yesterday like toilet paper when there's a threat of snow.

Somebody bought a bunch of Hostess stuff and put together a seasonal display at for our T-giving luncheon yesterday, so I was able to get a Twinkie for old time's sake.

That was a field trip for me in early elementary school.  After having to smell that fresh bread being baked for a couple of hours as we boarded the bus they handed each of us a little mini-loaf, and it sounded like jackals ripping into a wildebeest the way those starving kids tore into the loaves.

Yeah, it's still a valuable brand.

However, I have never eaten a Twinkie and I don't really plan to... not really into Hostess' lines of treats. I'd rather make my own chocolate goods :D taste better too (at least, to me!)

I drive by a hostess outlet when I visit the family graves in Lawrence.  There may even be a bakery or distribution center there, too.  You always had to wonder, though:  Expired hostess products?  Twinkies beyond the expiration date?  Did they make Yodels, too, or was that Drakes?  Yodels used to be my addiction.

edit - yodels were drakes, too.  My hostess fav was their cupcakes. Chocolate with chocolate frosting on top and a white curly line down the middle and a cream like substance in the middle.

Changing times, going out of business because fewer people are buy their unhealthy foods.

My parents gave me twinkies and I LOVED Big Wheels, but I wouldn't let my kids eat that garbage. Cake and cookies, yes, but not that stuff....

I know they'll survive, but I still bought a twinkie so my daughter could try it, just in case

Brand loyalty.  I mentioned above the hostess outlet in Lawrence, MA.  Here is a youtube of the some women buying the last twinkies boxes on the shelves.

I haven't been by there in a while, and maybe this shows how long... but is the Wonder bread distribution place still around Merrifield?

Obviously someone will buy the brands and continue. Too big a brand, without a ton of competitors, to fail.

growing up, Suzy-q's were about my favorite snack in the world.

Whoever buys Hostess and brings the products back is going to make a short-term killing.
