...and so he did - they even reported it on Sky Sports News over here yesterday, and the reason given was 'to cut costs' - what costs??  Half the Marlins' current roster is making federal minimum wage as it is.

Marlins owner Jeffery Loria has told team president David Samson he can no longer do interviews. This comes in the wake of Loria banning Samson from doing his radio show. Jackson opines this is a mistake because Samson has made himself more accountable and accessible than many team presidents, even amid unpopular decisions made solely by Loria, who, Jackson adds, has refused to speak to the media since mid-November.

Since Samson is the next fall guy in line, that's not surprising

What's the point of a fall guy? No one is going to fall for it.

has a bad owner ever come out and said, I suck, I'm cheap, I have no idea what I'm doing.... Usually they just fire a team president or GM and pretend everything was their idea

Samson is his step son, I doubt he's the fall guy.

There were actually more protesters than fans at Marlins Park for the Winter Warm Up yesterday.  I don't know who that fourth person in the pic is, as only three showed up when the ticket booth opened.  They are heavily discounting opening day tickets.

It turns out Selig didn't have to do the contraction; Loria did it to himself.

Sad to say, Addict, that the Loria Center housing Yale's History of Art department has a great view of New Haven, if there is such a thing.  I sort of feel about that place the way a union guy must feel about the Frick Collection.

The Marlins held their annual fan fest on Saturday and it featured a lack of fan interest this year. According to the Palm Beach Post, a total of three people were in line to buy single-game tickets with less than a half-hour to go before they went on sale Saturday.

There were hundreds of people in line to buy Nats-Red Sox tickets for an EXHIBITION game at Natsfest.

If it was this year,  it's Nats vs Yankees.

Watch Giancarlo Stanton lead the majors in intentional walks this season.

Brutal.  This should make any future proposed Miami-Dade bond issues, uh, interesting.
