ZKD posted this link before.  very helpful:

http://www.baseballamerica.com/draftdb/2013xteam.php?team=1012

Thanks again.

So, going up to 5% over ($136860), the cap's at 2,874,060. Pivetta and Voth signing cheaply could leave a little bit to work with

The #Nationals have agreed to terms with 22 players selected in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, including 8 of their first 9 selections.

4th round RH Nick Pivetta remains unsigned.

$272,800, per http://www.dcprosportsreport.com/washington-nationals/nats-sign-third-and-fifth-round-picks.html

That is right on slot.
http://www.baseballamerica.com/draftdb/2013xteam.php?team=1012

That leaves $419,400 for Pivetta under the allocation for bonuses, and up to $556,260 without forfeiting picks.

$55K under allocation on the top 10 round picks.  Can that be spent on lower round bonuses?

Whe I click on the calculator on the BA draft board, it adds the unallocated money to what is available for lower round picks.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/draftdb/2013xteam.php?team=1012

For example, Whitson's slot is for $100K, but it say we could spend $155K on him and stay under the pool.

judging by past drafts they could dip into the penalty cash yo sign whitson.

So if we're willing to go up to our limit before penalty, that's another 136k, on top of the 55k left over. On top of the 100k allocated for picks after the 10th. Technically speaking, we could offer 291k to someone without forfeiting a pick. Whitsun, Harman, and Hampson the most likely. Harman has already started class at ECU so he's out. I doubt Whitson would sign for that. Too much potential for more next year. Hampson would be WELL worth it but he wanted top 3 round money and that's probably not enough.

Can't find much on Hampson, but BA ranks him as #84 on their draft ratings.
Can't see either Hampson or Whitson signing for 291k though. Lukas Schiraldi might be an option

Hampson was expected to be taken somewhere in the top 4 rounds but fell with his Long Beach St commitment. Should be the next great Dirtbag SS. He's athletic and fast, and should add pop as he fills out. Will stay at SS. Well likely hear about him as a first rounder in 3 years.

Nice.

I believe RD had some good things to say about Simms.

Hoping some of that 11th round John Lannan magic rubs off on him.

I hope so; I've only seen him pitch one game, but wasn't excited by it.

I can corroborate on Simms' velocity not developing, last month he seemed to be sitting 88-89 and the stadium gun might have said 90 or 91 two or three times.

So the Nats have 17 players signed (at least they list in Bold letters) with no signing bonus.  Do players sign without bonuses?  or is the page just not updated?

Good question.  Two of the players have assignments without a signing bonus.  I wonder if the terms just haven't been released yet?

Pretty sure its just because they haven't found a number for them yet.

I havent looked at other teams yet, but perhaps they are only listing the bonuses that go along with the draft pool? They have Simms, etc signed but no bonus for them either. And we know he landed a sizeable one.

5th round pick Austin Voth with a nice outing in the GCL today: 3 IP 1 H 0 R 0 BB 3 K.
