Being a California kid, I never understood the hype around "In-N-Out" as it never really did anything for me. When I got stationed out here I heard good things about Five Guys but figured, much like INO, it was all hype.

WRONG

Five Guys beats the pants off of INO in all catagories. Went there yesterday for dinner and it was amazing.

Five Guys freaking rules.  They're all over the place up here now and my kids actually like Five Guys better than any other chain.

And where is this city?

I wish they'd open a Five Guys in Crystal City. I miss having one close by like at Courthouse.

Five Guys at Dulles has Blue Moon, a great thing when your flight to SF is 5 hours late.

They have the elite burger place, "good Stuff," so I think 5 guys is boxed out in CC.  I know it is almost a meme, but across route 1 at CCSP they have 1/2 priced burgers on Mondays and those are pretty good.  Not quite the variety of toppings as 5 guys, and the fries are nothing special, but very good burgers.  I'm guessing CCR has the same burgers (great food there but you tend to run through $$ on the incidentals).

I'm about 10 miles south of Albany, NY and in the past three years we've opened up about six Five Guys in reasonable driving distance.

Which terminal is that in?

Yea, I've been there. It's good, but it isn't Five Guys. And it's more expensive.

Someday next Nats season I must get out to the ballpark when it opens to try some of that place's chips...they look absolutely scrumptious but I just don't feel like standing on a 100+ queue.

Anyway - Five Guys restaurant locator: http://fiveguys.com/locations.aspx - includes one near Nats Park (a block east of the Metro exit in New Jersey avenue).

I had Five Guys for lunch yesterday.  Cheeseburger with ketchup, bbq sauce, and grilled onions with a reg fry.

The BBQ place in the village at Snowshoe has a burger with pulled pork and bacon...it might even have a fried egg.  It's worth the angioplasty.

sunny side up egg with runny yoke is the perfect topping for burgers (or salads)

I just had about the most decadent burger of all time at the Black Squirrel: hereford patty stuffed with melted brie and topped with braised pork belly (suitably fatty, of course) and shaved red onion.  Dayumn.

Never tried them, but I've always thought the 5 Guys fries looked better. And the line is very short when the park opens, as you mentioned.

I don't really care for Shake Shack's shakes though, the black and white one is OK but the strawberry one is way to sweet :spaz: I prefer Cheeburger Cheeburger's shakes.

It's not worth standing in line just for the "chips". There's nothing special about their fries so don't waste your time standing in line unless you're also getting a burger. As someone else mentioned, 5 guys fries are better.

Spaghetti carbonara. The sauce uses raw eggs. Good stuff. We usually substitute standard American streaky bacon for the pancetta.

If it's done right, the leftovers taste even better because there's an extra 12 to 24 hours for the bacon grease to soak into the spaghetti.
