I don't know why everyone is so set on moving Harper out of center.

He eventually will become a corner outfielder once he fills out more.  At this point if LaRoche walks (I think he has by now) then Morse moves to 1B and either the Nats could do a couple of things.

1.  Go in house.  Either playing Moore everyday in LF or using a platoon of Moore and one of Bernadina or Brown is possible.
2.  Leave Morse in LF and use Moore at 1B.
3.  Go outside the organization to try and pick up a LF or CF.

If someone was to be picked up in FA, I'd rather it be someone like Pagan or Victorino on a short contract.  I think Pagan returns to San Fran and someone will probably overpay on years for Victorino.  I'd take B.J. Upton over Bourn, because I value his bat over Bourn's and honestly they both play elite defense in CF.

I still think it makes most sense to look for pitching, but without LaRoche, Harper becomes exposed as the only left handed power hitter.  That is unless Espinosa has a much better year, which could happen.

Length, the content is fine. You're putting too many topics in a single post - break them up so people can process each separately.

Good points man.  Thanks!

It's times like this I really wish I had a blog.  A blog that people would actually read, lol.

You bring up some really good points but they get lost when you put four or five good points together in a single post. In a blog posting that's fine because it's more one way; a BBS is a bit more fluid and good feedback can get lost in the noise. Does that make sense?  Like I said, I enjoy your posts they just get a bit jumbled at times.

I want them both on the team, just not at 1B. Great avatar.

The more I think about it, the more I think the Nats should stand pat in CF.

Hey Squab, you should tag your posts with Washington Nationals, as well as all the other tags you've got going. The "Nationals" tag isn't just for the Nats - it also features a ton of garbage posts by girls going to cheering nationals or other competitions and glee fans, so it's likely your posts won't get too much exposure there.

And the Washington Nationals tag is decently active, though some of the people who post on it are a bit creepy  :|

Thanks everyone.  I'll look into opening up a blog at some point now!

I'm watching the AFL Futures game and Goodwin is the real deal.  He kind of strikes me as a B.J. Upton from the left side right now but a higher average hitter.

Apparently you can get 15% off if you use the code "HARVEST"

You're welcome, that's just about as cheap as they were at the park a few weeks ago! Hope there are shirts in your size!

They signed their guys.

Are you sure?  I could have sworn that in the last few years they had first round guys walk on them for failure to pay over slot.

Chock full of news

Edwin leaving is confirmed (good)

LaRoche prioritized over Bourne (good)

Gonzalez hopefully re-signed (good)

Gorzo likely gone, replaced by Zach Duke (good)

Maybe signing Lohse (good)

I think the Nats are in a very strong position.

Pass on Lohse - he will get paid too much for too long and is not any better than some other guys on the market.  Dempster or Haren on a one or two year deal would be nice.  Maybe one year plus an option.

Ellsbury would be good if they don't overpay for him.

I've never heard of Bruce Rondon, but the Tigers could use Mike Morse as a left fielder.  Maybe there is a match there.  Cabrera, Fielder, and Morse in the same lineup would be imposing.

Quick story on him. The highlights:
Quote from: Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski
"He's a guy that throws — and I know sometimes people don't believe this, but it is true — he averages 100 mph and topped off at 103 mph. And he throws his breaking stuff for consistent strikes."
