Sure they'll be better attended.  But there's a big gap between "better attended" and soldout.  Especially when a good weeknight draw is about 17,000.

True but I don't feel like making a loopy prediction myself. I'd expect a world series to sellout completely but I am not convinced the rest selling out is a lock. I hope we shall soon find out.

It'll be certainly more than that - the only home fixtures this season that have drawn under 17k were three matches in April/May vs the Astros and Diamondbacks.

Later start times two or three weeknights in a row with higher prices will have major impacts on demand.

Tonight and next Monday will have very low attendance.

Well, I am seriously considering declining my World Series tickets (that I would get as part of my season ticket group) and I would love to go, but two tickets comes to $500.   For one game.   I just don't know if I can justify that.   I wonder how many others feel the same.

So I don't see how you can predict, with such confidence, that we'll sell out all playoff games.

Just gut instinct, I guess. My prediction is based purely on my anecdotal tracking of demand for Nats tickets since 2005. I have literally dozens of people asking me about playoff tickets. I can't go to any meeting, event or a gathering without people asking me because friends, family, and colleagues all know I'm a huge Nats fan. I can't recall such a buzz about any baseball game in DC history, including RFK opener, new ballpark opener, Strasmas, etc.

They will sell out every game, rest assured.

...with opposition fans (or, at best, neutrals) if the locals don't step up.

No doubt the price tag will scare some people away. But it's the World Effing Series. We may never see another one in DC in our lifetime. People will get caught up in the excitement and pry open the wallets.

Absolutely. There are some high rollers who don't give a crap who's playing, they just want to attend the World Series. Thankfully I only know one guy who qualifies under this category.:~) Big bucks get him to all the big events (WS, Super Bowl, Final Four, etc.)

People will step up for the World Series should you falter. I am not entirely convinced the rest will sell out but it should be pretty close.

I'm on the Nationals Insider emails but haven't received the email/code for Postseason tickets.  Has anyone received it yet? If so could you pm it?

If the Nats were 2 games out of a wildcard and scratching to get into the post season, these September games would have a lot more perceived urgency I would imagine.

Don't worry.  That still might happen.    ;)

No.  Wait.  Really?   I thought we were being built to be in the WS for the next ten years.   That's why St. Stephen was shut down.  Remember?    ;)

My luck the code will come while I'm stuck in traffic and then in a long meeting at work and all the games will be sold out before I get a chance.

The pre sale tomorrow is limited to four tickets per person, so it's possible but doubtful that it will sell out. On Friday tickets go on sale for the first five games without restriction.

Apparently I am an Insider, because I received the email! Is an insider just anyone who has bought tickets online?

Well, does stubHub count as buying online, because I have never bought from the official ticket site. I'm part of a season ticket group but the  Nationals don't know I exist.  Yet I too got the email.

Yes, you've probably received emails from the team with game previews and recaps based on Stubhub purchases.

The tix are for "Tiebreaker, Wild Card and N.L. Division Series" only.

 :(

I thought they were also going to be selling NLCS and WS.
