Just as I think it's okay for them not to wear patriotic unis, I think they should get to wear special 911 unis, no questions asked.
Yes, but they still show the Team logo.  Back after 9/11 the Mets came out to play, first game of pro sports back in NYC, and came out with all different NYC fire and police department hats on.  The league issued a warning saying not to wear them or they would be fined heavily or not allowed to play (honestly I can't remember) and the Mets came out with them on anyway (F Yeah, 'Merica!) but changed them right before opening pitch.

It was a great tribute that was squashed for a stupid rule.  There should have been a write in addendum that allows for all teams to wear league approved (Basic base colors like black or navy, nothing bright green or orange unless you play in South Beach) hats without the team logo, but "ladder co. XX, NYFD" on the front.

Cute but no, I had just taken my girlfriend's kids on the "Kids run the bases" thing and he was wrapping up. I asked him if I could get a pic with him on the set and he said "I'm not supposed to let anyone back here.....ahhhhhh just hurry up and get back here"

Really cool dude.

Nice.  He was flashing his World Series ring also.

I just meant that it was asymmetric - I'd prefer both teams or neither.

Garcia's innings are so short I have actually never been paying attention when he pitches  I always just barely miss it.

Seriously. I can't wait to look at pitchfx on that. On gameday it said the change broke 10 inches  and the sinker was crazy.

Not sure the Mets have a special-occasion uniform.

According to ESPN, Gorzelanny has inherited 12 runners and allowed 4 of them to score.

Ehh, not that bad I guess.  Weird, I had more confidence in him last year, but this year it's like throwing up the white flag.  I guess he doesn't have that "wow" factor that the other relievers do.  Mike Gonzalez throws pretty hard for a lefty.  Stammen has nasty the nasty sinker-slider combo.  Burnett has a deceptive delivery and lots of movement on ALL his pitches.  Clippard has the MOST deceptive delivery and has the crazy Change-Up.  Matheus has the Turbo-Sinker.  Christian Garcia has NASTY stuff.  Storen is just absolutely amazing with his Four Seam, Sinker, Slider (Wipeout!) and now his change.

Gorzy doesn't strike me to have that "X-Factor" pitch or style.

Oh yea, I almost forgot H-Rod.... :clown:

Last year he inherited 9 runners and stranded them all.

Isn't it weird that the Nats are wearing special uniforms for 9/11 and the Mets are not?

The Mets wore NYPD caps during opening ceremony and BP.

Not sure the Mets have a special-occasion uniform.

Speaking of special occasion uniforms, I think on the last day of the season, the team with the worst game by WPA should have to wear clown costumes and all at bat music (Home OR away) should be circus music and Yakety Sax, the Benny Hill theme.
