I will never forget but I could do without annual jingoism, recycled sound bytes, and social reminders.

I think people struggle determining what is, or isn't, appropriate remembrance.  In the end there's a fair amount of diversity and some may seem over the top while others too reserved or non-existent. 

I would probably tend towards the more reserved, muted end of the scale, for me it's a day of quiet remembrance.
