This 86th win pulls this year's edition even with the only winning edition of AL Senators version 2.0:

99 - 1933 [pennant winner]
96 - 1925 [pennant winner]
94 - 1930
93 - 1932
92 - 1924 [World Series winner], 1931
91 - 1912
90 - 1913
87 - 1945
86 - 1969, 2012

---

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Thursday 8th September 2005 saw the Nationals continue to struggle with that year's Marlins edition, dropping a third straight, 8-4, with Beckett out-duelling Patterson...record now 72-69...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250908120

Left at 17.30 - partly because I wasn't sure how much longer this would go on but mostly because I was getting ravenously hungry - got home in time to catch the final at-bats on the radio. Had a bit of a bus jam at Pentagon City, as other buses normally serving Pentagon were re-deployed to Pentagon City for some reason.

I loved it. I kept score and the amount of 5-3 plays or L5s were much higher than normal. He's spoiling us.
