For me at least,  I have to post the message and modify it to delete the and extra link that always gets inserted

All these years and I didn't realize that was Mona Lisa in the icon.    :-[

I will observe however that there is no need to hit preview first.  Just use the "insert image" Mona button to insert into your draft message.

If it's your own picture you want to upload, select "Attachments and other options" and you will be allowed to upload a picture from your 'puter.

There is if you're using the Quick Reply box, like I'm doing right now.

Oh, I quit using that thing long ago.  I forget exactly why but in general it lacked functionality but was no quicker.

The only functionality it lacks is the buttons for inserting BBCode, but if you're a l33t haxx0r like me you already know them by memory anyway :P

Forgot to close your img bracket, plus looks like you tried to use an image from your email, save it to your computer and put it on imgur first instead.  Or you could attach it to the bottom of your post too

Look, stop trying to type the  stuff.

First, paste your link into your message around where you want it to appear.
Next, highlight your text.
Next, while maintaining your highlighting, click on Mona Lisa above.   This will automatically, magically, place the stuff, that I edited to make the link work.

Nathan, how do you type the img with brackets, without it being interpreted as the real thing?

I was trying to give our noobcake some guidance, and my img examples disappear cause they're too lifelike.

There's a sooper sekeret code that's not listed amongst the buttons like the Mona Lisa and others :P

It's [ nobbc ] [ /nobbc ] (remove the spaces).  It makes any bbcode you use just show as text instead of actually doing the formatting.

I still prefer code though b/c it highlights the fact that it's an example.  Using nobbc can be confusing.
