Interesting.  No Uggla, McCann or Bourn in the lineup today for the Braves...

Lefty or not I'm happy to avoid Bourn. And Uggla is the only power righty in their lineup, I'm OK with missing him too. (Although I'll miss his fielding :))

Bourn and McCann are lefties, so that makes sense.

It's the time of year when old guys get the odd extra day off, especially with the Braves flying cross country from here.

Bourn is one of the best leadoff guys and CF's in the game and will be the top CF on the market in a couple of months and McCann is one of the best offensive catchers in baseball, too.  Not guys you typically play the L/R matchup game with, IMO.  I know no one plays every day but when you're playing the team you're chasing, I'd assume they'd want to put their best lineup out there.  So, I'm not sure if this means they're conceding the division a bit and focusing on a tough Giants team coming up tomorrow and holding on to their Wild Card lead or what?

If you read the Braves fan sites, they've been ripping Bourn (because he strikes out so much and tries to be a power hitter), Uggla (because he can't hit or play defense) and McCann(he's injured and can't hit).

I haven't read Braves fan sites, but I hold my breath every time Bourn, McCann, Prado, or Heyward hit. Uggla? Not so much, although his fielding makes for interesting plays.

It isn't so much her rooting interest as the fact that she works for Angelos - that's worse than any outside rooting interest she might have. (Have not seen her so cannot testify as to hotness or lack of same.)

We need some General Sherman references in the game thread.

I did that at the 11-10 game.   The Atlanta fans were not amused.

It's coming down in sheets here in Arlington, but looking at the radar it is a small system and there should be baseball tonight, even if it is at 8:35 instead of 7:05.

Medlen is a dominant ace.

Let's hope Ross can match him.
