It's my first start of my career.  I've got butterflies!

Wow, really?? Don't worry, young grasshopper, before you know it you'll be basking in the adulation of your colleagues after a gloriously successful Arrested Development-themed Gameday thread. The fact that you call them butterflies tells me you're not ready.

I got the late callup after spoprtsnyan naged in the GDT Starter thread and nobody stepped up.

Still a good inning.  35+ pitches and already got the bullpen stirring.

Where the Werth haters at? Can't wait till Desmond comes back and he's our leadoff guy.

Why would Desmond ever lead off again?

They should have scored more in the first with the way Lincecum pitched.

That's excatly how the Nats needed the inning to go, 1-2-3.  Keep the pressure applied to Lincecum.

There's no way we send Lombo down when Desmond is activated right? I was reading on one of the Nats blogs (Either Kilgore or Zuck) that we might use one of his options instead of cutting Izturis in case Desmond's injury flares up. While I sort of would understand that if Izturis was any good, that idea sounds crazy to me...

That makes no sense at all. Given that Espy can spot Desmond, cutting Izturis must be the plan.
