Before every pitch I hear, "Heath".    I want Obed to throw his beer at that cat.

Big enough target.

Really need a mandate to show KA on the camera.

I don't wanna hear KA's voice.   I wanna see her.   That's the ONLY reason she's here.

Exactly.   If it's going to be mostly voice-overs, it could be anybody.   Put the girl on the screen!   The game sure is ugly.

Either they are earned runs or they are not.

There are no technical earned runs.

What I want to know is when the pitcher makes an error, why it doesn't count as an earned run against him.  He made the error.

Serious question here: If Espinosa doesn't do next year what Desmond is doing this year, do we cut bait?

Surely there would be better options out there who don't completely suck at the plate.

Remember, Harper doesn't suck.

He's a 19-year-old minor leaguer playing in the majors.

Almost everyone of the six runs is unearned though.  They may be technically earned but they were created by errors and misplays.

Our middle infield has given them 4 runs tonight.

I've always thought it should be ruled that way as well.

A run that "becomes" earned because someone gets a hit after an error is a run created by an error.

Anybody on the farm to challenge him?

But yeah, my patience with Espi has run out.

Desmond got like 15 years and Espinosa gets one?

Um. No.

Espinosa is 12th in WAR for 2B this year. Which means he's not nearly as bad you think he is.

8th in WAR over the last two seasons.

Short sighted in my opinion.

He's a defensive wizard... and he has enough power/speed to make up for a lot of holes in his game.

This is Desmond's third full season and he's doing fine.  Next year would be Espinosa's third full year.  No excuse to keep him around after 2013 if he shows no progression.

Only Danny's been light years ahead of Desmond defensively for years.

Once again.. I don't think you understand how good he is. Or you just don't care.

He's an above league average 2B.

Unless being 12/30 in WAR is somehow below league average.

Better at 2nd base than Desmond at SS but now we see Espinosa at SS and we get a better comparison.

Espi is near the bottom in the league among 2B:

I guess the scouts don't know baseball all that well after all!

It's not like Espinosa has been playing a different position for the last two years... oh wait...

Unless I'm looking at the wrong WAR, his WAR is only 1.0, down from 2.4 last year.  If he is 12th out of 30, then that is more of an indictment of the second basemen in the league than anything.
