tom, just look at the fielding stats coming up through the minors. Desmond, until last year never had a year where he finished with under 30 errors.

I'm not a huge fan of errors as end all be all of measuring fielding, but its clear who has always been the technically sound fielder of the two.

Davey is not letting them go deep at all, even when they are dominating. Let's hope the bullpen doesn't betray him.

Candlesticks.

I always think of that scene when I see the infield gather on the mound with the coach!

uh.. Why did he bring in Mattheus for one batter? I really don't like the way he's managing the last two nights.

"This is suddenly a 3 run game..."

I hear that happens quite frequently when a team down by 4 runs has a solo homerun.

Let the starters pitch damnit and then don't dick around with the pen. He's trying to be too cute with matchups and it's continually burning him.

I'm not saying I wouldn't throw a strike to Valdespin, but you can bet he wouldn't be getting a dead red fast ball.

You're not a fan of errors because you are correct in assessing that errors matter far less than range.

And Desmond has clearly made significant reductions in his error rate, so I am discounting his career error stats because that's an area where improvement is possible.
