Indeed they did - after peaking on 3rd July at 50-31 following a sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley, starttign with the disastrous Fourth of July against the Mets they would go 6-19 over their next 25...they would not win back-to-back matches again till 3rd/4th August.
Injuries and MLB budget constraints wore them down.
