i love how you blame everyone else for stammen/flores sucking.
Stammen was garbage today but what is the explanation for him not pitching in a week? How is he expected to stay sharp like that?

And that means we should just oblige him and throw him nothing but meatballs and puss out?

Of course not, and you know that's not what I'm implying.  If this were happening against some real scrubs (like say the Cubs) I'd agree with you, but Wright is locked in and having a career (read: contract) year.

Why, he's going to win the NL MVP assuming he doesn't get injured.  Deservedly so.

The only way Wright wins NL MVP is if McCutchen is injured.

McCutchen has way better stats, and is on a way better team.

I had a feeling Gio would have a rough one today

Why did you think that?

Unfortunately McCutchen plays in Pittsburgh.

Are you serious?  That "strike" was half a foot off the plate!

This team's falling apart without Rick Ankiel.

In all seriousness...  if we come back and win this one it will be a disheartening loss for the Mets.  It could derail their season.

Guess you haven't heard of Andrew McCutchen?

it's time to remember that it doesn't matter if you lose 10-1 or 2-1.

Unfortunately McCutchen plays in Pittsburgh.

Unfortunately? If McCutchen carries Pittsburgh to the playoffs that's to his advantage. He'll be a lock for the MVP if they make the playoffs.

It's just one game guys we still won the series :? Some of you are acting as if the world is about to end, Gio was probably hung over.
Agreed- though how often do players stay out late/party knowing they have to do this the next day? I would understand more for position players who play daily but as a pitcher you know which days you are playing well in advance.

Oh well.

It matters when you lose every game 10-1.

Honestly have no clue why you even posted this. Completely irrelevant post, considering the Nats haven't lost very much this year, and even less have we lost in blowout fashion.

I was referring to previous years.

He is absolutely not a long man. He is a setup man who should be used to pitch in the 7th/8th when RH batters are up to bat.

Yup.  We've only really been blown out once or twice this year.  Happens every now and then.  We won the series, we have Stras going against the Braves tomorrow - it'll be ok.

Melky Cabrera leadoff triple in the top of the 8th vs Hudson. Giants trailing 3-1

Oh, I'd much prefer McCutchen (a much better talent) get the nod and I agree that he'll get it if the Irates make it to the post-season.  I just don't think you can writeoff the NY meda influence, know what I mean?

Silver lining:  I'm looking forward to Good Henry blowing the Mets away in the meaningless 7th and 8th.  :?
