That stupidity cost them a run. Davey should be fired on the spot if that was his call.

There's the perennial problem with the Shark.

That wasn't his fault.

Bernadina missed the bunt sign. Bo whispered to Morse; Shark missed.

Bernadina blew a sign and SF wants Davey fired.

Classic.

Why would you call a freaking squeeze in that situation? Makes no god damn sense. We had a freaking 4-0 lead. Just let the guy put the ball into play for the easy run.

I think I would have just trusted him to get the sac fly, I mean a squeeze with Morse running?

i'd like to say it's Davey's fault - if he hadn't put the squeeze on, that fly would have scored Morse.

But this is Roger's problem. He either not baseball smart, or has concentration issues.

Need Bernie to cash in this run against the tough LHP.

The ball was in the dirt.  He wasn't going to make contact.   The squeeze was the bad call.

Seriously, Bernadina is lucky he wasn't benched for blowing a sign like that.

Strasburg out for the sixth. Davey lets him pitch more than Gio and Jordan.

How was he supposed to bunt a breaking ball bounced well into the dirt? Stupid ass freaking call. We had a 4-0 lead, let the guy make contact and put the ball into play which he ended up doing.

Perhaps sitting on the bench for most of the past 3 months hasn't helped.

I'm surprised Stras is still in the game.  Sorry we lost that 5th run.

You also can't blame Roger.  That pitch couldn't have been bunted.

We've seen this before. Still, I'm glad he's playing. Maybe Davey has to not put plays on when he's at bat.

Perhaps sitting on the bench for most of the past 3 months hasn't helped.

Todd Coffey warming up in Marlins BP. Wearing "Bell" on uniform, but I recognize Todd.

He didn't try.

But maybe you're right, maybe Roger knew the sign was on, but recognized he couldn't bunt.

That's a happier explanation, anyway.

That's the chance you take when you call a suicide squeeze. The odds of that working out vs letting him swing away were significantly lower. It's one thing when you are trying to take a lead in a close game or late in the game and call a squeeze but with a 4-0 lead in the 6th inning and a contact hitter up you let him put the ball into play. Davey outsmarted himself with that call.
