It's twelve years old and I've had it for about 6 years. It's time.
What do you ride? I'm just riding my bike until it dies - fixing the various problems it has (leak in the exhaust pipe causing a clank/backfiring being the biggest pain in my azz) would cost more than the bike is worth.
My original was a 1970 350 Scrambler (LOL). I bought a 2002 Sportster 1200 Custom. Put an extended Dyna front end on it. Solo seat with a sprinkling of chrome ... straight pipes (love noise). Added white walls to give it the classic 60's look and ...
My clown bro is riding an old in progress Triumph, has another not ready and is taking 10+ years to rebuild his 1929 Terrot he salvaged from his mom in law's in Dijon, Fr.
You need a Captain America helmet
My first love was a 1970 Triumph Bonneville.
That's a beautiful bike. Too bad you don't still have the Scrambler, too.
As a PA guy you'll appreciate this ... Rode the Scrambler (with knobby tires) from Western PA to DC on the Turnpike. Whoa ....
My F-I-L, may he rest peacefully - he was mostly a jackass when he was alive - (only half kidding) rode from Easton to Aberdeen when he was in the service on a two-stroke, 98cc German DKW.Gigantic, brass cojones, or no sense. One or the other. The bike's in my shed.
I have a buddy (82nd AB vet) who rode from Philly to DC every weekend on a 150CC on the BW PKY from B'more south. That's when it was loaded with the asphalt strips every 30 or 40 feet. Said his ass took a beating. When we were young, none of us had any sense. Young, dumb and full of cum . That's why they drafted young guys. LOL
I can't imagine taking a bike that small on the highway. I see a lot of 250's around DC but I never see them on highways. Highways around DC in general are pretty ridiculous. Seems like everyone is on their cell phone.
What would take me back would be a 1970ish Honda CB 350. (I know, pathetic, but it's what I remember.)But I'm too much of a chicken to ride.
I do have one of these sitting in my basement ready to be restored. we tooled around in the woods on these things for six hours a day every summer day in Northern New Jersey when I was 14. God, was that fun.(Image removed from quote.)
