Oh, and:

Adam Kilgore ‏@AdamKilgoreWP
Mark Lerner, in full uniform, is shagging BP.

Random fantasy question:

A league I'm in has an offensive spot called MI to go along with 2B and SS. I recently lost Tulowitzki (after losing Alex Gonzalez earlier in the season). I am now desperate for a SS (I have Josh McDonald as my MI right now). I just got offered a trade: Heath Bell for Zack Cozart. Do I accept?

I wished I owned a baseball team and was rich enough to not care about looking like a douchebag by playing catch with them.

I don't think it's the playing catch part that bothers most people, or at least me, it's the full uniform thing...

Agreed 100%

The Lerners are multibillionaires. They can do whatever the heck they want to do. If I was an owner I'd have tons of fun as well.

Lets trade for Garza or Wandy Rodriguez and place either one of them as our 5th starter.

i've never understood coaches wearing uniforms.

I think Connie Mack was the last (and only??) manager to wear a dress suit rather than a uniform.

A guess: early in the 20th century, MLB rosters were looser, and a coach might be sent into a game if a player got hurt. Go through Baseball Ref for the career of Clark Griffith's pal and Washington coach / pitcher, Nick Altrock.

That's just a guess...but if it was done in 1912, there is no reason to change in 2012.

Biggest changes I can think of: much larger gloves, batting helmets, and that disgrace of 1972 (?), the DH. Artificial turf, but most of those ballparks are gone, thankfully.

How cruel is this world when Mo Rivera goes down, and Lerner stays up.

I would have preferred LaRoche at first and Moore in LF. I like Nady as a person but as a player, meh.

Nady is batting .146 against lefties. It's supposed to be the reason he's here therefore, he's playing his way off the roster.

Bernadina a left handed batter is batting .167 against lefties.

Yeah, Moore's sucked butt against leftys this year. They had a fangraphs article on it recently.

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/matt-moore-needs-a-better-breaking-ball/

Quote
The ugly totals: 66 LHBs faced, 18 H, 2 HR, 8 BB, 9 K, 3 HBP. That translates into a .327/.446/.519 slash line, or a .425 wOBA. For perspective, Josh Hamilton has a .438 wOBA. The average left-handed batter has hit against Moore at a level just slightly lower than what Josh Hamilton has done this year.
