:hang: This is the exact type of bullcrap that makes me sometimes wish I had become a Red Sox fan circa 1999.

It's the playoffs.  It should be no contest.

Srsly? Have you seen attendance figures in this town?

Honestly if there was a playoff game on the same Sunday as a Redskins game, Nationals Park would barely hit 25k

So it's not possible to be both a fanatic Nationals' and Redskins' fan?  I'm both and I'll find a way to watch both.

with local media, it doesn't matter- the radio stations hired guys who primarily know football and some basketball- they return to their wheel house. Look at how painful it is for them to try to talk caps for more than 10 minutes

Misquote on my part - they were talking about a pennant race drive vs. RGIII debut.  I was so busy stabbing myself in the eardrums I may have missed some of the details.

:lmao:

I forgot about that nonsense.

The Redskins are going nowhere, with or without Griffin, for at least the next ten years (or however much longer it takes to get a new owner).

Sanity.

I will bet you $50 that you're wrong about this.  Let's hope that the Nats make the playoffs so we can find out.

lets be fair, RGIII's first preseason game will get more airtime than the nats for that week even if the nats are in the middle of a great run/epic collapse/clinching the wild card....

That is true, and demonstrates how pathetic the local sports media is - a bunch of lazy ass reporters, many of which aren't even from here, who simply glom onto the Redskins 24x7 coverage, because it is the easiest thing for them to do.

Oh for Heaven's sakes, Nats park would absolutely be packed for a playoff game even if the Redskins are playing. Let's not get all nuts here. Of course it would be.

Without reading through this thread I'm not sure how it evolved into Nats v. Skins but I can only hope for the day when both teams are playing well and I have a tough choice on who to watch. In any case both fan bases can clearly agree that Wise is the absolute worst columnist, the guy is a real ball lick.

For the record, here are the Redskins pre-season fixtures along with the Nationals fixtures for those days (note that the Nats are home for only one of the Redskin dates so attendance really shouldn't suffer unless the Nats have really been stinking out the joint for a month or so):

THURSDAY 9th AUGUST
Redskins: Bills away, 19.00
Nationals: Astros away, 20.05

SATURDAY 18th AUGUST
Redskins: Bears away, 20.00
Nationals: Mets home, 19.05

SATURDAY 25th AUGUST
Redskins: Colts home, 16.00
Nationals: Phillies away, 19.05

WEDNESDAY 29th AUGUST
Redskins: Buccaneers home, 19.30
Nationals: Marlins away, 19.10

As long as we're playing the Phillies.  :?
