Guess they didn't like him as a reliever.  Not sure what this says for his future as a big leaguer.  Hopefully he does well as a starter.

Minor league filler- if he can't get through one inning, how is he supposed to get through six?

Way back when Perry was traded for, I suggested the Nats turn him back into a starter. I hope it works well for him.

I think Ryan Perry has a good chance to make the bullpen.

I still want to send him to AAA to stretch him out and see if he's got any starter potential left in him.

Interesting, maybe it could work this experiment. Personally I don't see him as much more than a middle reliever, but long-term he might be better than Gorzo in that role.

Otherwise he is nothing but a cheap version of maya

They could also be starting him so he can develop his secondary pitches. Either way, I'm fine with it.

Can anyone think of a failed reliever converted into a successful starter- this would be a great story if it works

Maybe happening with Franklin Morales.  I would not call CJ Wilson a failed reliever, but his conversion has been spectacular.

It's Double A. He should be dominating.

i want to see him in AAA, but like the progress.  some pitchers just are better out of the rotation then pen (and vice versa).

he's still young too.

This times a million.

He'd already done the Double A thing.

What are some examples of failed relievers becoming successful starters? There are guys like CJ Wilson, but they were good in relief too.
