4.0 game lead in the NL East. This has more to do with the fact that we haven't yet played the Yankees or the Rays, but I am enjoying it.

Offense really hasn't started to click yet. I think they can be a lot better.

Why is LaRoche getting a day off today against a righty?  Why not have him DH?

Today is going to be tough.  I don't think Strasburg will be typical Strasburg, but I'm hoping.  Plus, sweeping is really hard.  Even more so on the road.  I guess if there's any guy I'd want on the mound when trying to lock down a sweep, it would be Stras, though.

He hasn't really hit anyone - left or right - in the past few weeks.

So...how does it feel to cheer for a Nats' team that has won five straight and eight of the last ten? Is that why there are eight WNFF members and one guest here already?

I'm not against having la Roche having an off day, Moore gets another chance after some food efforts at Fenway and possibly against a RHP for the first time, and he gets a chance to play some 1st base without losing another power bat by having morse DH.

I have the day off work tomorrow and it's 1am, still not sure if I have the energy to stay up for the game but I am contemplating it

Yup, let's see what Moore can do. Not thrilled with Ankiel starting, wish Bernie was healthy.

Nothing succeeds like success...nothing wins like winning!

[A win today would also put the 2012 Nationals back ahead of the '05 Overachievers in the comparative-dates race - on Monday 13th June 2005 the Nats' 10-match winning streak would come to a screeching halt with an 11-1 thrashing at Anaheim]

Kyle Drabek has walked fewer than 3 batters exactly TWICE this season.

I always get nervous when we're facing guys like this.  In the past, the Nationals were absolutely phenomenal at making the Kyle Drabeks of the world look like Justin Verlander.

Update:  if I may make one more comparison...

Jordan Zimmermann:  6.52 K/9, 1.51 BB/9, 1.16 HR/9, .262 BABIP, 2.91 ERA
Kyle Drabek:  6.18 K/9, 6.04 BB/9, 1.21 HR/9, .262 BABIP, 4.43 ERA

Just to point out how important it is to let him give us baserunners!

You're right - he only has 6 hits in 10 games so far in June.  Lost 20 points in batting average and 50 points in OPS.

Good comparison. They better be patient and willing to take a walk today and then guys like Zim and Morse will need to be clutch.

Oddly enough, Drabek only walks 3.89 BB/9 at home, while 8.03 BB/9 on the road... so his numbers are deceiving.

That's a tough one. I was a New York City cab-driver, night -shift, so for about seven years I went to bed about 4am, woke up at 11am. Very hard unless your body is tuned to it.

In fact, heck, my Dad was a watch engineer at PEPCO, Bennings Power Plant, and PEPCO's generating teams work rotating shifts...he says that shift work was even worse than managing boilers during a DC summer. (No air-conditioning outside the control room).

Good luck, and hat's off if you can stay up that late!

Lest anyone thinks differently, Danny Espinosa is batting .297/.350/.541 over the past 14 days.  I would guess most of it is against left-handed pitching, but still...perception isn't everything.

Just curious if there is another FM station in the NoVA/DC area that is carrying the game? For whatever reason, I can't get WJFK at my desk

Don't have that option. Though today is freaking nice.

Does the MLB.com At Bat 12 app come with all audio coverage for games? Or will I get blacked out because it's local?
