RIP Chuck Brown

...just heard on the radio, don't know any details.  Wind me up, Chuck, you were the hardest-working guy on stage right up to the last.

Just read this in the Post.   There was a "rumor" a week or so ago that he had passed.    "Bustin' Loose" brought a lot of good memories for Nats' fans.

Solid blocks of go-go on multiple stations, too bad the guy had to pass away to get some good tunes on the air.

Everyone's a go-go fan now from what I've read. Amazing what death can do.

Do the local rap stations still play Go-go or no? I remember they used to have it on fairly regularly.

Rap never thrived in DC like elsewhere because go-go kicked its ass pretty much constantly.  And Chuck was da man.

Occasionally, not as much as you'd think. Today it's been cranking though.

They dont play it like they used to when i was in middles school. Not too many good go-go band today like it was in the 90's.

RIP Chuck. You truly were the biggest celebrity in DC.

Chuck is 'Bustin Loose' of this world.  RIP Chuck

Forget if it was the Post or WTOP.  HE was hospitalized with pneumonia.

Finally playing some CB at the game

30 seconds of a sound byte with no mention of Chuck Brown, so glad that MLB picked a local ownership group back in 2006 because it is important to have the community represented at the highest level of the organization.

But really now - when something is current, individuals may have preferences (such as Bruce Springsteen vs Go-Go).  But that doesn't mean those individuals don't see the quality in non-preferences.  I think that sentiment is what's coming out now.

It's like saying Redskins fanatics thought Roger Staubach was a great quarterback

Everyone's a go-go fan now from what I've read. Amazing what death can do.
