Leon will be cleared next week to resume baseball activities, once he's ready he's likely to come back to the big club.

Flores has been, by far, the better defensive catcher on the team

Next week? I guess that wasn't such a terrible sprain.

Great news.

Sprains can be like that. And I imagine that a training staff can better rehab them then you can by yourself with a bag of ice and ace bandage

I still expect Flores to be catching 5 out of 6 games

he's been terrific, especially given that he hasn't had an off day in about a week.

It's a good thing that they immediately put Leon on the 60-day DL. So, we can now wait until mid-July to activate him...

They changed their mind.

Leon was put on 15 day DL, Ramos was placed on the 60.

And not so bad offensively, either.   From the W. Times article linked above,

Quote
Since Ramos was injured May 12, Flores has hit .292 with a .308 on-base percentage and a .458 slugging percentage. He connected for his first home run of the season Sunday in the Nationals‘ 9-3 rout of the Baltimore Orioles. As a backup, Flores hit .200 with one extra-base hit.

I'll take that triple slash out of my catcher any day.

i'm really starting to worry about burning Flores out.  I'm guessing if we win tonight then Maldonado is playing tomorrow.

Bad news on Wilson, the damage to his ACL was so severe that they could not repair it surgically yet, requires further healing time before they tackle it.

He is at the Steadman-Hawkins clinic. That is where Kobe went and got in trouble. It is the best place for knee ligament replacement surgery bar none. I have friends who are "regular customers "there.

Amanda Comak reports that Maldonado is dealing with severe back pain and that Harper took reps tonight in case he has to fill in at catcher.

Wow.

Surprised they did not bring in an extra bullpen arm and DL Maldonado after all the bullpen use last night.

Is this a joke? It's too absurd to be true, but...

[Just checked. No joke, unless the god of baseball has a nasty sense of humor]
