Harper plays a decent CF. I wouldn't be surprised if Moore played a decent LF. Nady... well.

I think you can count on defensive substitutions/pinch hittters.

Outfield defense will be so bad today.  No arm in right field, a first baseman in left field, and a 19 year old with 2 years of experience in the outfield playing CF.

I thought Andino was an ex-Marlin.  Tejada was Albers/Patton/Scott and then Michael Costanzo and Dennis Sarfate.
you are right.  I knew there were extra moderately useful bodies, and forgot about Sarfate and Costanzo.  I liked Sarfate for a minute or two.

At least Espinosa has been getting on v. LHP.  I'm guessing the first game he gets pulled or sent down is v. RHP.

We may complain about his glove, but if we are going to go with Ramos in the line-up, shouldn't he be hittting 5th behind LaRoche?

and Chris Tillman, Cam Mickolio, and George Sherrill, I think.

Tejada was Albers, Troy Patton, Luke Scott, and I think Andino?

Hammonds would know.

Isn't Andino the guy in that pic where through the years he's like

:D :) :| :(

:lmao:

Josh Hamilton's wRC+ is approaching Nady's OPS. This is sad.

The hope I had for tonight when I saw Moore would be in the lineup was quickly vanquished when I saw:

1. Lombo out, Espinosa in
2. Ankiel out, Nady in
3. Nady batting 5th

I mean, there can't be logical reasons dictating why any of that is happening.

So are you saying Det will have to throw a no-hitter with no balls reaching the outfield?

Ross Detwiler does happen to be one of the best groundball pitchers in baseball.

Would it really kill them to give Espinosa the night off. Pujols finally hit a home run after taking a day off.

lol, Davey used Papelbon and Hanrahan as comps for H-Rod...  and he meant it as a GOOD thing.

If I were the opposing pitcher, La Roche wouldn't see a single pitch in the strike zone.  There is a double play and strikeout waiting to bat behind him.

Bedard is decent, I don't feel any more confident about this one than I do most games.
