They aren't sending him down unless his BA is under .200

which is a couple of at-bats at this point

Sorry about that had a small brain fart  but beside his batting average his OBP is solid and are his other stats. He's better than any of the other options we have. Now if Werth is healthy and comes back September I could see them playing Bryce in center, making Ankiel the 4th outfielder and sending Bernie down (if he has options).

Harper already is in RF on a nightly basis.

And it might not be a Davey decision but more a Rizzo decision.

He's not going back down.  Rizzo won't do that, he's been too impactful to the team already.  He'll be in RF until Werth gets back.  When he does, he goes to CF.  Don't be paranoid about this, he's here for good unless he gets hurt.

I just think he's proven he can play at this level and has earned the right to develop here. I think he needs a signature game here in the next 10... you know a 3 or 4 hit game or a 2 HR contest... and he will be here to stay, no doubts from that point on and really roll statistically.

Stealing home on national television vs. the best team in the division the past 5 years doesn't do it for you?  Home runs on back to back days doesn't do it for you?  The rocket throws don't do it for you?  He's had at least 4 signature moments already.

Sorry, I don't mean to come on strong, I just think there's nothing more he has to prove that he belongs here.

Watching him Wednesday night, I even enjoyed seeing him strike out, he's the anti-albatross.  Dude gets so pissed off at himself, pure rage that he is unable to hide, very refreshing compared to players who either legitimately don't care or more likely hide their emotions.  I hope that Harper keeps that fire burning for a long time.

Since getting three hits in his fourth big league game, Bryce Harper is hitting .192 (10-for-52).

His OBP is .316 and his wOBA is .325. He's also slugging over .400. I can definitely live with that.

Also, his BABIP is only .255. While it will probably remain low for the first half, I definitely see him getting better in the second half.

He's still a better option then Ankiel and Bernadina.

Who cares.

The only ones that care are those that want production from the lineup.

Relative to this lineup, he's producing enough.  I don't know what to tell you, I'm not concerned about him right now and anybody that wants to make any big judgments or development decisions about a 19 year old based on 3 weeks is wrong.  I think he's doing well enough at this point to justify continuing his development at the MLB level.

.192 isn't producing enough for any lineup.

That said, I'm sure he'll continue to improve throughout his rookie season.

That was a shot at the lineup more than an endorsement of a .192 average.  Although his slugging is .396 over the same period.  Certainly not great by any stretch but more encouraging than the average, and again more productive than the rest of the outfield.

That is odd. Small sample size can do that though.

Despite his .192 average, don't you think that he's enough of a HR threat in the 5th spot for pitchers not to be tempted to pitch around LaRoche?  In that sense, his spot in the line-up is a plus despite his currently low average.

Only thing that continues to help his case is the fact that all our OF's have low averages.

First, the three hits actually count.  The "since" condition is bullcrap.  Next, as much as I am a proponent of BA, left completely alone, it's almost meaningless...unless you want to take a shot at the player in question.
