acomak: Harper took his frustrations out on the wall, w a bat. Davey said the bat came back & hit him. May need a stitch or 2, may be out few days

Bat, like Linty said.

Idiot. Give him a day off.

Kids putting too much pressure on himself.  I'm wondering why he'd need a day off for a couple of stitches.  A little butterfly bandage and bandaid perhaps and he should be fine, so long as he doesn't go bashing himself with his bat anymore.  Calm down kid, no one's asking you to do it all on your own.

He seems to be pushing. I think giving him one day off would be a good idea. I also think the 3-4-5 should be switched from Zim-LaRoche-Harper to Harper-Zimmerman-LaRoche. Maybe if Harper can get some more fast balls he'll have a little more success.

I trust Davey on what the best path for Harper is.

Davey got frustrated when LaRoche received 2 IBBs this game before he switched Harper to 5th.

My thought is - Harper 2d, Ramos 6th.

Ramos strong like bull.

Your Nats right fielder tonight: Bam Bam Harper. He's in the lineup.

Probably time for the GDT...

Apparently Harper likes the nickname and doesn't mind keeping it.

@AdamKilgoreWP
Harper doing well. Likes the nickname: his full name is Bryce Aron Max.

Didn't Willie Harris look like a black Great Gazoo with his batting helmet on?

Yes, he did.  So does Lombardozzi.

Ha, just noticed that FP got an "old school" dig in after Harper's homer.

Harper turns in the second fastest tater trot of the season.

Larry Granillo, Baseball Prospectus

Quote
Knowing what we know about how Harper acted in Hagerstown last season, would Harper's inner-prima donna show itself that first time he was the center of attention? How long would he soak up the attention during that 20-to-30 second tater trot?

On Monday night, Harper finally answered that question. On a 1-0 slider from San Diego's Tim Stauffer, Harper deposited the ball over the centerfield wall in Nationals Park. He wasted absolutely no time rounding the bases. There was no watching the ball fly, no kisses being blown, no obvious enjoyment of the moment at all. Instead, Harper put his head down and raced around the bases, for a tater trot time of 17.07 seconds. This is the second fastest (non-inside-the-park) home run trot of the season. The only player with a quicker trot was Carlos Gomez at 16.46 seconds, who didn't know that the ball had cleared the fence until he reached third base.
