This is my first post on this forum. I’m not really a Nationals fan, but I’ve been following their games since Bryce Harper was called up.

I’ve been involved with youth travel baseball for several years.  When Harper was 13 years old, he played for a team from Southern California.  I got a chance to watch his team play in a huge tournament in East Tennessee. He was clearly the best player at that tournament. After watching him play at 13, I made a comment that he would become one of the greatest baseball players ever. His talent was undeniable even at that age.

The talent he possesses and the energy he brings to the game will make any true baseball fan become a Bryce Harper fan. You guys are going to have a lot of fun watching him play. Of course, I’m sure you already know that.

We get to watch a few Nats games here in Oz and l have to say that watching Harper grow and develop into the complete package over the next few years is something that l am looking forward to watching. Go Nats, the next few years is going to be a great ride.  :D

Where you from mate? I've been a member of the site almost 11 months and everyone still thinks I'm a novelty. I still know a total of zero nats fans living in oz

Bryce is Nyce!

Seriously, this guy is nothing like people portrayed him to be. He plays the game like it should be played and he is the ultimate cheerleader for his fellow teammates. I am so happy that he will be a Nat for a very long time.

The big question...will he refuse to sign for fans in Yankee shirts when they come to town later.

Actually, who cares...

And he'll be playing there by the time he's 27.

I guess he could always change as he got older and want to stay here, but really, could you blame him?  I'm 27 and if I were drafted by some team when 18 and became a FA right now, I'd want to leave that team and come to play for the Nationals if at all possible.

Why would he want to stay in DC? Are you willing offer your sister or wife to be his personal sex slave to make him stay in DC? In a few years I am going to try to find some impressionable girl and tell her to approach Harper and do whatever he wants, that way he might want to stay here.

Unfortunately MLB pitchers also have breaking pitches.  What's he batting against them?  (Not snark, I don't know where you find this stuff).

So, whoever had Bryce stealing home before hitting a home run, you won

Lol, I wish I had Vegas odds on that one. If I'd bet a buck, I'd be a multimillionaire right now.

Welcome. Cool first post. When my son was 15 he played in a wood bat tournament in Atlanta and Bryce's "San Diego Show" team was there. He was followed around like a rock star. I got to see him AB one time. He struck out looking on a very bad call by the ump. He left the tournament after that, after only six ABs.

People were talking about his BP like it was other worldly. My son still talks about watching him hit in BP. And Bryce was only 14 and was playing up.
