No opening at the present.   However CIA and a couple of 4 stars may be available.

Too young. Minimum age, I think, is 35...just about when Harper will think about retirement.

In all, I have seen better ball-players...saw Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle, live, beating the old Nats...but no player who was as much fun to watch.  Maybe Derek Jeter.

And I believe that Harper will only get better. Running the bases...how many singles did he turn into doubles? I saw Harper steal a base, and important steal, when Davey let him rest a game to heal a pulled muscle. Then scored an important run in the game that turned around the Atlanta series (the 9 - 0 beginning that the Nats eventually lost).

Harper's base-running seemed to pressure the other teams into mistakes. ("here's Harper...have to make a perfect play", and Bam, the fielder throws the ball away)

Cameron continues the manlove for Bryce, in a comparison to Trout:

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/trout-or-harper-the-great-debate/

Quote
...Given the choice over the guy who accumulated most of his advantage through speed and defense or the slightly younger guy with untapped power, though, I’ll lean towards the bat. I think both players have consistent +7 to +8 win seasons ahead in their primes, and both are likely to be among the best players in baseball for the foreseeable future, but I think there’s just a little more upside in Harper’s bat, and the advantages that Trout had in his rookie season are likely going down as career bests.

I could very well be wrong, and maybe Trout’s unexpected power display in his rookie year suggests that we’ve all just underestimated his offensive capabilities. But, after one year in the books, I’d still prefer Harper by a very slight margin, even though Trout was demonstrably better in year one.

Untapped power? Did he miss the part where Trout hit 30 bombs last season?

You bring up a good point.  Trout was 4th in percentage of fastballs seen.  Harper was third, from the bottom.

I think next year Trout will get less fastballs to hit which will mean his HR total will likely drop.  I still say he hits 20+ and still bats well over .300 but I don't see him hitting 30+ again unless he is taken out of the lead off spot.

Trout will continue to hit leadoff. His stolen base ability will guarantee that he will see fastballs. Trout will continue to hit homers. I'd expect him to hit 40 in 2013 or 2014.
