And take LaRoche out of the lineup?  I thought he could play left field?

Davey is waving the white flag already.  :dibbs:

We're doomed.

Yesterday was the opposite of the other day when the Nats won, the Caps clinched and the Redskins were on the brink of drafting Griffin. Yesterday the Nats blew it, the Caps were the Caps again and the Skins drafted Kirk Cousins.  :?

Huh? Two days ago you said this:

Bringing him up Saturday was one thing but for one game? What's the point, this team sucks right now anyways.

Haven't seen full lineup yet, but there is this:

Adam Kilgore ‏
Bryce Harper is batting 7th, playing CENTER against lefty Chris Capuano. Werth in right, Nady in left. Moore not on card.

I'm guessing we'll see: Desmond, Lombo, Werth, LaRoche, Nady, Espinosa, Harper, Flores

argh! why no moore!?!?

Zuckerman just tweeted that he's expected to be there by game time.

Which still doesn't mean anything because he's not on the lineup card... so he can't play at all.

When does that have to be turned in, though?  Is it when they meet with the umpires before the game?  Is it some other designated time?  If they haven't reached that moment yet, they could just be waiting til he's actually there to add him to the card.  Just speculating...

I wonder when he left Syracuse.  Those tweets about him being called up started at about 1 this morning.  One would think he could have gotten to LA before now.

I supposed the Lerners hiring a private plane would have been too much to ask?

I doubt there are flights out of Syracuse, especially to the west coast in the middle of the night.  Probably didn't get a flight, probably with at least one connection, until this morning.

Right.  Was probably still in LA after whisking Harp there earlier in the day...

And, btw, he did get there.  It looks like the earliest flights out of Syracuse that would get him to LA leave between 5:20 and 6 am and would get him to LA about 11 am, which it sounds like a similar time line to what happened...

You do know that private planes (a) aren't available on command, (b) are flown by pilots that were asleep at that time, and (c) aren't always cost effective when the difference of time between them and a regular flight is minimal. You don't fly minor leaguers around on private planes.

The Nationals could submit an adjusted lineup, if Tyler Moore arrives and they want to start him.

Well, people with lots of money sometimes have emergencies that require them to fly out somewhere overnight thus there are private planes available on reasonably short notice.

Also, he's not a minor leaguer anymore.  He's on the big league roster and should be treated as such.  The team's chances of winning are better with a full roster (that doesn't include Xavier Nady starting) and I thought winning  was the objective of this whole thing.
