I'm sort of surprised by the lack of hype around Harper's debut.
T Y P E    T H E    H Y P E  ! !
B R Y C E   H A R P E R   A G E    1 9:    R Y P E
W Y P E    O U T   T H E    D O D G E R S
.... T O N Y T E ! ! !

Didn't see it posted anywhere but Chad Tracy's hand was not broken. It's just a bruise.

You all are not excited enough for tonight. Tonight will be historic.

Tonight the youngest player in the MLB will take his first MLB at bats. A young guy who won the Golden Spikes Award as the collegiate baseball player of the year.... When he should have been a junior a high school. A guy who is pretty much the concensus #1 prospect in baseball.

Tonight batting seventh for our first place Washington Nationals will be a 19 year old whose ceiling as a player is to be one of the greatest players of all time.

Let's get pumped.

A friend of mine posted this on my facebook wall today:

happy bryce harper debut day! may your night be full of many blown kisses to many opposing pitchers.

I told him:

I'm not expecting much the first go around. But if he's all they say he is he can make out with the opposing pitchers for all I care.

DL him. Bring up Moore, who had a double and RBI in game 2 today.

No, if he can still play he should.  Tracy's been the best bat off the bench this year.

Time check ...  Pre-game at 8:30 PM EDT?    Game time 9:10 PM EDT?   Don't wanna miss a minute of this.   I'm keepin' score (at least for the Nats).    Trying to avoid Captain Morgan.

The Nats training staff may choose to treat the bruise by amputating the limb so maybe he will get DL'ed.

...   wouldn't DL him 'til he saw a specialist about the amputation.

Smithian I'm extremely excited about tonight.  The call-up made me go from mostly cloudy about this series to pretty much full on sunshine.
