Taylor is nowhere near ready with the bat. Anything above 92-93 mph practically knocks the bat out of his hands. He needs a lot more time to develop than Goodwin does.
"Bat knocked out of his hands" for me implies that his swing itself is built for very little power, and that he'll struggle to make pitchers do anything other than throw fastballs down the middle of the plate because you can't punish them. Lombardozzi for example.
Taylor had 10 HRs, 57 extra base hits and a .163 ISO last year, so I don't know. Maybe there are just enough soft tossers in A-ball for him to kill, but that doesn't scream "bat knocked out of his hands". Goodwin had a .155 ISO last year, although obviously a level up. If you can knock 57 extra base hits on 86-92, I don't feel like you're a "long way away" from handling 93-96. That is probably just one year's maturation in wrist, forearm and core strength. I'm not worried about either him or Goodwin "handling" big league pitching. My concern for both of them (and for most prospects) is pitch recognition.
I don't know, he feels like he's a late/slow developer. Late bloomer in high school, has taken a second attempt at low-A and high-A to master the level, generally hits better as the season goes on, etc.
