The Marines wear desert-ish camo now, which of course makes sense. The blue and grey navy camo from the battle dress unis is just purely to look like badasses.

If you see me on the Metro you will have a curly dub sighting, but I can't find my Nats tie

Of topic but the Navy Working Uniform (blue digital camo) was designed to make the life of a sea-going sailor easier. The original working uniform for sailors was solid dark blue trousers and a lighter blue shirt. Due to the conditions on a ship they were often stained with grease, paint and other items that stood out against a solid background. The colors and design of the new NWU essentially turn it into "stain camo" so that small stains caused by day to day working conditions blend in and do not present an "unserviceable" appearance. This means that the sailor is not forced to come out of pocket for uniform replacements as often.

That being said, I'm still partial to the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform, but that's probably just the Jarhead in me being biased.

I've started watching DS9 straight through on Netflix, and I just saw Captain Sisko throw Major Kira a Grays hat

And then I thought wait, I remember reading about that on wnff.

Not exactly a curly W sighting per se, but I thought this was interesting:  Homestead Grays cap sighting on Star Trek: Deep Space 9

And yes I realize how incredibly nerdy this post is.

I even replied several times nerding out about people misspelling Kira's name

Where has my memory gone?  :|

If only someone had had a camera, last month they could have caught what was possibly the first-ever Curly W cap seen in Latvia.

I can say with a fair degree of certainty that I spotted the first interlocking DC ever seen in Burma (2006).

In the Nats' second year of existence (back when getting into Burma/Myanmar was about as easy as getting into North Korea) that sounds like a pretty safe bet.

Ran into a guy with a red :w: cap at Peet's in Newton this afternoon around 5:15.  I was wearing my gray MASN give away.  We commiserated for a minute or so.

My wife and I ran into a fella named Larry at the Irish Fest in Milwaukee back on the 17th of August.  He had a green Nationals shirt with Irish flag colors.

He was there with his family and we all chatted about the Nats for a good long while.

I posted this in the GDT, but it is surprising how many folks in an AL town know the Nats and are aware of things like the ATL bean ball war and how the team is doing.  My Red cap / blue bill is not mistaken for Walgreens even when I'm next to a Walgreens.

Time for Mr :w: alkoff to heat up so I'm not asked about the tee shirt.

Mucho sightings on CNN coverage of the Navy Yard.   Must be post Nats/Barves game fans.   Appears to be near NJ and M SE.    Cops just shooed them away.

swapped emails with him after the incident.  Thought there would be no way they could get the make up game in Tuesday.  He's fine.  I'd expect some guy in a BGS shirt to come roaring through the crowd on a bicycling sayin "get out of my way, needle [guy]" during the last series of the homestand.

Saw a guy with a red Nationals cap yesterday interviewed on TV, he was a witness to the shooting of that woman.
