Nationals vs Astros, Game 2
« Topic Start: April 17, 2012, 10:46:38 AM »
In Texas, we take a lot of things seriously...
...football, beer, blonde girls, ourselves, our hats, a good truck, some smoked pork ribs...
...but none of it is quite as important as the sacred, almighty Burger.
Well, except for beer.

For those going tonight: Capital Weather Gang's NatCast has 'Partly cloudy skies and low humidity allows temps to cool at sunset into the low-to-mid 60s.' - temperatures of 71 at first pitch, 63 by ninth inning, 5% chance of precip.

I could go for one of those... I mean another game like last nights. Although we'll take any win we can get I prefer ones that have a cushion of a few insurance runs.

Wait til I call dibs on the Nats-Rangers World Series gameday threads and you get to see what Dallas has to offer.

One of my favorite burgers from one of my all-time favorite burger spots in NYC:

The St. Marks Burger - Paul's Da Burger Joint (formerly known as Paul's Palace)

More burger taste enjoyment: before Sunday afternoon Nats matches I like to pop by the Greene Turtle in Verizon Centre for one of their 'Straight Up Burgers' - just $6.99 (other, more involved versions of burgers are of course also available, and much else besides) and really tasty.

Surprisingly few people in there at that time too - you should be able to get a seat at the bar easily.

See, though, it doesn't actually look that tasty. I had a nibble of the Space Coast Stadium Strasburger at spring training and that was above average.

Ugh. Yellowed tomatoes, pale pickles, lettuce that looks like it went through a lawn mower, Kraft Singles. I don't understand why any of those things are ever on burgers.

Let's take a little detour to downtown Houston's Hubcap Grill.

Ah. I feel better now.

it looks pink in the middle- it's really not too different than a thick steak (expect the whole undercooked ground beef harboring bacteria thing)

The problem with Rays is that they jacked the price 3.00 per burger. It used to be my favorite. I am not in a rush to go back there anytime soon. And yes I am craving a good burger after reading this thread. Might swithch to BGR(?)
