That is not an uneven pitching matchup at all

With our hitting, it could be close.

Weiland will pick up the usual 6 strikeouts we seem to give all #5 starters.

I do think we win though!

For those going tonight:

Capital Weather Gang's NatCast has 'This game will have the feel of a game played anytime from early June to early September. Very pleasant mid-to-upper 70s for the balance of the game.' - partly cloudy, between 79-81 at first pitch, 74-76 in ninth inning, 5% chance of precip.

Also if you're Metro-ing to/from the match, expect it to be a bit more crowded - tonight is also Caps-Bruins playoff Game 3.

well, last year we had a knack for making guys like weiland look like Greg Maddux, hopefully it's different this year.

No worries, just pointing it out.  I'm sure Nathan doesn't really care.

I think this series will tell us a lot about who this team really is going forward.

A few days ago I looked at the rest of the Wizards schedule and also the Nats schedule over that period and it appears the Wizards pull rank on the Nats throughout Wizards season as far as FM-106.7 coverage...fortunately for non-Wizards-fans, Wizards season ends Thursday after next (26th) and they aren't going to the playoffs.

Weiland is freaking terrible. This is a must win with our stud ace on the mound at home.

Going to be fun switching between this and the Caps game like on Saturday, hopefully the results are the same  8)

and 1500/820 will be covering the Caps.  That leaves radio listeners with only one option: 1580AM, which I think has the same power as a 40-watt light bulb after dark.  CBS owns several other FM stations (WPGC, Fresh FM, the struggling WNEW), so I don't know why the Nats have to get bumped to an AMer no one ever listens to.

Love that the GDT is up already.

I think this series will tell us a lot about who this team really is going forward.

You can get really far just by winning the series you are supposed to win. Wasn't it the Reds a couple years ago who had a terrible record against winning teams but made the playoffs because they won the games against lesser opponents?

i can't imagine WNEW survives given there's no compelling reason to switch to it from WTOP.

Is it bad form to predict a no-hitter?  Ha.

But honestly, Stras should be able to shut down the Astros.  Jed Lowrie is a decent hitter and El Caballo still swings a good bat.  But there isn't a whole lot else there.

Nats need to start hitting.  I'll say Zim gets on the board tonight with his first homer.  He's probably still pissed about yesterday's game (remember that helmet and bat slam combo?  Zim doesn't show that kind of emotion very often.).

Last year lots of mediocre pitchers stepped up with big performances against Strasburg. Hope we don't see that trend continue.
