This is par for the course for this franchise.

if he wasn't in the line-up on monday i'd agree with you ... but obviously he responded well to treatment.  just something didn't feel right again after throwing.

Might as well sit him down and let him get healthy. We need him but we can stay afloat without him I'm sure.
Or put him at first since he can't throw if LaRoche loses it.

This. We need to hear what the reexamination says first of course but if I'd prefer if he just got shut down at this point. Let him sit for a month or two. It's a long season, he can still be a huge help if such a scenario were to unfold, but only if he's healthy.

But the list is very long of players who've been reported as having minor injuries that end up missing substantial time or, in some cases, missing the rest of their careers.

I wonder of Davey is ready to retract his playoff prediction for this season yet.

Yup. Although I'd personally like to see Lombo out there. I don't care if he isn't a great fielder, neither is Morse or DeRosa.
Then again I  Lombo :az:

Let's wait until he gets examined, shall we? Step away from the sharp cutlery.

OK, give us a scenario where this ends well?

I like the Damon idea.  Or trade Lannan for the best outfielder you can get.  Neither Brett Carroll nor Bernadina really belongs on the roster.

I think Lambo still belongs in the IF. Still shaky in the OF.

Obviously, Lannan isn't going to get the Nats an outfielder, so that's kinda shot. Ankiel should be back soon (I guess we have to cross our fingers on that too), supplying a stopgap in CF. Damon can play a little left, 1B, and provides a decent OBP if he gets back to career norms. Add that he's never played in the NL, and is relatively fresh, I think he could provide well for the team for a few months, becoming a great bench piece once Harper comes up

Wow, a paper thin roster that goes down in flames when one of the two producers (Morse, Zimmmmmmm) go down with an injury.  Who would have thunk it?

Agreed. Either he's out for a longer time or he's out for the longest time.

I don't think I can take watching an outfield of DeRosa/Nady/Ankiel/Bernadina/Werth every day. Ugh, even imagine that lineup.

Get something going for Byrd, at least.

He needs a couple of weeks of rest and treatment. Anything less than a month is really not that big a deal if you look long-term.

Agreed. He was hurt for a month last year then came into beast mode.  So I don't think its anything to worry about yet.

Well, considering they have no idea exactly what the injury is, "rest" may not help.  Knowing exactly what the injury is would be a good first step.

Isn't this how it always starts?  Some supposed major contributor goes down with an injury and misses 2/3 of the season?  So far it's been Marquis and LaRoche.  Let's really hope it's not Morse too.

Not sure how to find such info, but I'd guess they change periodically

So our closer may be out indefinitely and our clean-up hitter as well.  I had such high hopes this year.  Now......???

Is the reason Damon hasn't already signed with someone money?
