Read it and weep.

Good for him-he passed his GED, that 's a great accomplishment.  However, a GED, won't get him a "great" job, if anything happens to his baseball career. I applaud Storen, Strassburg, and the other Nats players who took the time and had the smarts to go to college. In this day and age, where jobs are very competitve, and the unemployment rate is high - it doesn't hurt to have other options available if the baseball career doesn't work out - you just never know about fate and destiny........eh? But that's another story.....

Not that I give a crap either way, but I'm missing where "passes GED" = "straight A student"

What?? Harper will have plenty of opportunities in baseball or outside of baseball for the rest of his life just for being Bryce Harper.  He also could always go to college after his career is over.  And regardless the dude already is a millionaire and set for life from a financial standpoint.

Jose Canseco and Brien Taylor both want to speak with you.

lol I think Bryce Harper is better served speaking with a financial planner and investing some of his money than he is in spending his free time pursuing a college education so that he can blow all his money now but find a good career post baseball.

Ok then, how does the fact that 2 guys blew through millions of dollars have any relevance to the fact that Bryce Harper as a millionaire is set for life?

I think we are working with a different definition of set for life my friends.  I'd say someone is set for life if they don't have to work another day in their life and can still live quite comfortably if they are smart with their money.  I'm guessing you all take it to mean that no matter how dumb someone is with their money they will still have more of it, in which case I"m curious is it possible for anyone to be "set for life"?

You must have missed the thread where Ali and I argued over the finer points of Pier Paolo Pasolini's "Salo, or 120 Days of Sodom".
