These refs are so bad. It's unreal. The players have no respect for them, whatsoever.

Steve Young just destroyed the NFL on the post game.

"nothing can lessen demand for the game so they don't care. Player safety? Doesn't matter. They don't care"

Do fans really care,  you hear players referring to themselves as gladiators, so why are they shocked playing takes a toll on them?  Also I just saw a rugby match on tv- no pads and no real breaks in game play-I really wish it would catch on here

Rugby is awesome. A far more fun game to watch than the NFL. And, to be honest, the US would dominate it if they just took all the college atheletes who didn't make it to the NFL and used them.

Linty what the hell happened with the Bills?   I have a neighbor who is a Bills fan. His Bills flag didn't get to spend the night on the porch tonight. It got let in early.

Hey Berkeley, the Ravens/Patriots fan was actually wearing a Patriots jersey today. He may dust off the old Ravens jersey tomorrow night.  :?

LMAO! What's he going to do on Sunday night?

Probably watch the game at home (he usually goes to a bar for games) and wear the winner's jersey the following day.

Torrey Smith's brother was killed in a motorcycle accident last night. Sad news for the Ravens receiver, RIP Tevin. Smith's availability for the game is unknown.

Tucker couldn't make that any tighter.

Geeze.

Also, I thought Belichick was going to punch a ref.

I fail to see any scenario where it would be necessary to throw one's hat in the endzone, at a player's foot no less. I know they have to throw their hats on punts, but this wasn't a punt. This makes LITRALLY no sense.

The refs have been an absolute disaster all around. Some teams have gotten extra timeouts others have been granted bullcrap challenges. John Harbaugh conned the refs into giving him a bogus measurement in order to get more time to see replays and decide whether to challenge a spot. Then they reversed the spot when there didn't seem to be sufficient evidence (due to the camera angle) to justify the reversal. The Redskins were penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct when virtually the entire Bengals team was on the field and somehow a 15 yard penalty turned into a 20 yard penalty. In the Detroit/Tennessee game a 15 yard personal foul turned into a 27 yard penalty because the refs measured the penalty from the Lions 44 yard line instead of the Titans 44 yard line!

It's insane. The only other reason I can think of for a ref to throw his hat is if someone went out of bounds on a play that's still active. Such as a pass play or punt etc...

The refs are bad- players are fighting more,  coaches look like they're ready to explode,  but I wonder if it hurts the ratings- if anything players appear more 'passionate'  (probably because they're worried about getting their knees blown out with no calls)
