I'm going on the fact that Lannan always has a depressed look, like Eeyore.  Also, he always seemed to get screwed with no run support when pitching a gem.

Also, WTF is this!?  :lmao:

Exactly. It's the look and the attitude, not the results.

Mark Zuckerman ‏ @MarkZuckerman
Espinosa blames small batter's eye in Viera for poor stats...and he may be right. Home splits: .200/.273/.225. Road: .304/.360/.348.

Amanda Comak
Espinosa noted difficulty for lefty hitters to see ball vs. RHP in Viera. Stats support him: .304 avg, 6 Ks on road; .200 avg 17 Ks at home.

Who cares? It's not like he has to play in Viera during a game that counts.

Because if it's something that's only affecting him then it's probably not the stadium and moving away from it won't help. The numbers support his claim but that it's always important to keep in mind the sample size and that correlation != causation.

I will say it's been nice having all these games broadcasted either on TV or radio.  MASN only did a couple games, but we were on MLB Network a lot and Charlie/Dave did some good work.  A welcome change compared to recent years.

Short of injury, could anyone imagine Espinosa having a worse ST?

Look, sure.  I think it's the eyebrows.  I don't think "attitude" is the right word, though.

davey says Ankiel likely to start the season on the DL along with Morse, Storen, and Wang per MASN.  That likely means we open the season with Lombo in LF and Bernie in RF.

Comak speculates Carroll, Nady, Lombo and Tracy would all make the team.   Carroll is probably gone once Ankiel returns.  I'm guessing Tracy is out once Morse is back.

She also speculates Mattheus makes the team, Durbin gets cut, and Stammen goes to AAA.

yeah, except that Davey seems to like Lombo and mentioned last week he could open in LF.  I guess we'll see on OD.  I expect DeRosa to get some ABs at first as well.

i can't see lombo starting in LF so soon, especially when he's only played a couple games out there and hasn't been great.

With Carroll's versatility as an emergency catcher and Johnson's affinity to using Flores as a frequent PH I feel like they might want to keep Carroll around and send Nady back down.

Did they sign Nady to a contact with options?

Hmmm, well correct me if I'm wrong (I still can't claim to completely understand all of baseball's transactions intricacies) but wouldn't Nady be able to refuse any minor league assignment even if he had options since he has more than five years of major league service?

You can sign a veteran player to a minor league contract with options if he agrees to it. Nady is on a minor league deal until added to the 25 man roster AFAIK.
