Just played the demo of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on PS3. Game looks pretty awesome, plus playing the demo unlocks some items for Mass Effect 3 and the same is true for playing the demo of ME3 unlocking stuff for Kingdoms.

Wow...  I qualified for the Platinum league on 3v3 random.  Definitely was not expecting that.

Tell me about it. My friend (fall, i think you played with him a few times) is incredible at micro managing so whenever we do 2v2 its usually 1.5v2. I'm just there to build up one thing while he does most of the work lol.

So after 16 consecutive 1v1 losses, I finally get my fifth win....  on a drop :?

Still doing significantly better than 50/50 in 3v3 though...  I guess I'm just not very good at handling ALL the pressure.

I'm down to play with you eventually. Still at my parents house until I get my car situation figured out.

2v2 sucks anyway. 3v3 and even 4v4 are much more fun.

I could never win 2v2.

I did finally win a few 1v1's at least.  Granted I'm pretty sure they were all against Bronze leaguers (and I'm somehow in Gold league :? ) but whatever, I'll take it.  Something like 7-20 now

Do they still hide loss totals from your profile?

Yeah, which I don't mind.  I don't need to be reminded how badly I suck or have people talking crap at me after games (some do anyway, talk about poor sportsmanship).  I only know roughly how many I've lost because I started as soon as I placed and had a spectacular streak

I was around a 50% win-loss... SC2 is good at getting everyone to 50% if you play long enough.

I liked that they started to hide losses, though. It takes some of the pressure off.

Supposed specs for Xbox 720

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/01/24/xbox-720-will-be-six-times-as-powerful-as-current-gen

Quote
the processor will be derived from the 6000 series, which was introduced last year. More specifically, it will be akin to the Radeon HD 6670

In other words, still quite a ways behind my Radeon 5850 from October of 2009 :stir: /PC fanboy

Biases aside, interesting news.  I wonder if the 720 (or whatever they end up calling it) will be able to play 360 games?

How is 6670 behind 5850?

Isn't that a newer model?

So the 9600 in my 2009 MacBook Pro is way better than the 5850 in my PC :woop:

But no, model numbers for GPUs make no sense as far as generations go.  A 5870 > 5850 but a 6670 < 5850.

Weird.

Why don't they make them in sequential order?

In ATI model parlance, the last three numbers are supposed to correspond with the target market from generation to generation.  3850 > 4850 > 5850, etc.  They actually changed it in the 6 series so 6950 is the successor to the 5850 (the 6850 is actually slightly slower than a 5850, though not by a lot).

Anyway point being that a 5850 has about 2.75x the computational power of a 6670 (this according to ATI's own published specs).  6670 is a mid-market card at best.  I would say more like low-mid market.  The 5850 was one step below top of the line when it came out, and is still vastly superior to any number of "current" cheaper cards.

Will anyone be playing Starcraft 2 tonight or tomorrow and want to teach me what it is and how to play on 2v2 against cpu opponents or something?
