yeah the CODMW games will get you hooked, problem is most of them are the exact same (in fact I like COD Modern Warfare the original one the best ... and one step above that, i enjoyed COD2/3/W@W more than the modern warfare ones).

I didn't care much for the campaign mode (I only played a bit of it to get used to the game) but the team deathmatches were enough to get me to actually finally get my XBox running on XBox live full time.  That was the most fun I've had on a video game in a very long time.

I totally suck at it right now but I will be playing a lot going forward.

O.k. so I know I'm behind the times here, but I just got back from visiting my brother's house for the Royal Rumble this past weekend and we played a ton of Modern Warfare 3 online (team deathmatches).  It was my first experience in those situations and I have to say that I became hooked.   So I get home at about 2:00 p.m. yesterday and by 6:00 p.m. I had finally made my first full-time connection to XBox live, friend requested my brother and my nephew and went out and bought the game.

Completely impulsive but I have to do more of that....

I used to be a total MW addict but Chief and a few others talked me into giving Battlefied 3 a shot and I LOVED it.  Try it out, it's much, much better than COD MW and the "you freaking Paki" nonsense on MP.

Right now, my peeps are into MW3 so I'm going to stick with that (especially since I'm a total noob at this online stuff).  I actually like camping and sniping better than rambo-style so I'll be looking for a game more suited to my style coming in the near future.

BF3 is a game for people with slow twitch reactions, like myself... and not for the 12 and under run and gun losers on MW3.

You'll get better. It's all about upgrading the guns and getting the setup that feels right to you.

i can drive anything in BF3 except for the helicopters.  I can get it off the ground and then I'm screwed.  I always feel like a dick when there's two-three people in the copter with me and I'm like, oh man they have no idea what they are getting themselves into, this will be a fun ride.

The plane controls are kinda similar to the controls in BF1943.

The tank, the jeep wranglers and the hum-vee that goes in the water (sorry i don't know the techincal term) are awesome.

I still haven't played InsaneBoost yet, but if anyone has BF3 for xbox360 let me know.  I need to download the new map pack too.  As well as finish the campaign.  Damn that "Lost" for taking up all my time the last couple days.

and I believe it was Linty or someone on the MD board that made the most true point about the difference between BF3 and MW3 ... BF3 is more strategy based.

Is there a game for people who can't stand playing shooters on a gamepad but who still want the community experience that console shooters provide?  Yeah, thought not.  Hence why I don't really buy shooters anymore :?

Wish MS and Sony would just get over it already and let people use KB/M inputs for games.  If the competitive thing is the problem - which seems disingenuous since they allow much better controllers for fighting games - then just have an option to play on controller-only servers, KB/M-only servers, or mixed servers, and let the player decide.

Is it worse the Sparklez? Because I know a guy who uses that as his tag.

Star Trek Online is free though, CMD.

And yes, I downloaded it from steam.  Only played a little bit, but it's pretty neat.  Ensign Nathan Scott Phillips fought some Borg off his ship, the USS Johannesburg, then proceeded to fight some Borg ships even though the ship only had a fore and aft phaser array and a single fore photon torpedo tube.  Victory was his anyway.  Then he beamed down to Vega colony.  And I got tired and logged off

I tried it, fought some borg. The ship thing took me a minute than I lost connection to the server and dropped for awhile.
