The link above is to Dan Aykroyd on SNL as Julia Child.  Save the liver!

They have a list of a top 25 of SNL sketches.  I'm still partial to the older stuff.  There is even a great Eddie Murphy - Joe Piscopo duet as Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra.

Top 5

5 - Julia Child
4 - More Cowbell
3 - Patrick Swayze / Chris Farley Chippendales audition
2 - Mick Jagger
1 - D!ck in a Box

I'd have to put Chris Farley as the motivational speaker in any SNL top 5 list.   Murphy's camera commercial with Steve Wonder was great too (the camera easy enough for Stevie Wonder to use it), also Wonder auditioning for a role as Stevie Wonder impersonator.

How about Will Ferrel's "Casual Friday" skit?

Lord and Lady Duchebag?

Can't argue with DIAB as the greatest ever though.

Os Yankees.  Os won that game when Cal Ripken's  statue was unveiled.  Still have a replica of it!

Finished part 2 of the Top Gear Nile special.  So awesome.  The locations were incredibly gorgeous as well.

So apparently the guy on The Bachelor lives somewhere around here in Dallas. I googled his name and discovered that another, slightly more famous Sean Lowe was once a relief pitcher. Relief pitcher Sean Lowe fielded a sacrifice bunt from Albert Pujols in 2001. It's the only time Albert Pujols has ever bunted.

To repeat...

Albert Pujols has a career total of one (1) sacrifice bunt.

When do those air in the states?

Nevermind, I see the first one airs tonight, second is next week.

I like what they did with the Dallas theme song to honor Larry Hagman:

It would be pretty hard for me, I watched season 1 and half of season 2 in college, then dropped off. So I'd really need to (re)watch what, 65 episodes in 27 days?

A Farley motivational speaker I think made the top 10.  Personally, I was not a big Farley fan.  Poor man's Belushi wannabe.  As for Ferrell, can't argue with his movie career, but it took him a long time to get going on the show.

I thought they were very light on the first cast.  Lord and Lady Douchebag could have made the list, but I think they were light on some of what was OK in the 70s but not PC later.  The Wild and Crazy Guys sketch with the vacuum cleaner smuggled out of Bratislava and the fashion models that needed to go to the nearest national park to obtain birth control?  The Killer Bees?  I don't even think any of the "Todd and Lisa" nerd sketches made the list. The Cheerleaders sketches were trying for that.  "Mr. Luepner was born without a spine."  No Fernando's Hide Away ("So Hulk, what are your Passover plans?"  "When you laugh, your chest bounces like Dorothy LaMore's tush!").

As good as Samurai Delicatessen was, the best was Samurai Night Fever, with OJ Simpson.

Yep, just a week after they air in the UK this series, which is nice.  I wonder if they will air the full episode or if they will edit it to fit into the traditional US 60 minute time slot.  I hope not.

DVR says it will be 1:20, so I'm assuming it won't be edited down.  Usually, when they re-run them is when they cut 'em down.

I'm about a third through season 4.  21 episodest to get through.  One a day and I can be done before opening day!

Yeah, the weekly broadcasts are not cut down.  We've come a long way from having to wait a year for an edited show in SD, and even longer from not having TG at all on US television.

Clarkson even mentions the show being watched by Americans in part 2 of the Nile special as he's making fun of American tourists

Loved the samuri skits.

A few others:
- Richard Pryor's job interview with Chevy Chase (that could never air today)
- male synchronized swimming with Short and Shearer
- the change bank
- canteen boy with alec baldwin
- Bill Clinton at McDonalds (Phil Hartman)
- Schmitt's gay
- Mr. Robinson's neighborhood
- Brian Fellows
- James Brown celebrity hot tub
- Little Richard Simmons
- Buh weet has been shot
- Lazy Sunday, I'm on a boat

For all the crap they put on, they do air some pretty funny stuff as well.

I'd love to know who wrote DIAB. Some of the funniest lyrics I've ever heard put to music.

finalgear.com

Street fire.net has streams, apparently, but it's broken into parts and I prefer 720p.
