Heck yeah. He's awesome in action movies.

I wish he'd do more comedies. He's a funny guy, as well.

i'm just pissed they are bumping back GI Joe 2 until next year.  I really think it's going to be a good flick and the Rock was promoting the hell out of it (even on his own).

Journey 2 was a massive hit.

http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=journey2.htm

Made over 300 million worldwide and the budget (minus advertising) was only 79 million.

Rock got locked in a bad deal with Disney... but he's been a pretty consistent ticket pusher when his movies come out.

i watched on a flight this week, it was "howard the duck" and "space camp" level awful.  At one point they commandeered large bees and used them to fly away from what looked like over-sized toucan sams.  Just a terrible terrible movie.

Um, what? Howard the Duck is so bad it's not even enjoyable. Except that one part where Jeffrey Jones says, "The transformation is complete! I am now... someone else."

We actually had two pet ducks that my little sister named Howard and Webbie *lol* Webbie died after about a year or so, but Howard lived a good 5 or 6 years. When Webbie died, Howard mourned her for a few weeks. I didn't realize that ducks mate for life. It was really sad and my dad, oddly enough, really felt bad for him. Dad would hose him off with a lite mist from the hose and Howard would follow my dad around the yard while he mowed grass. It was pretty cute as my dad never got real close with our pets, but Howard and their current dog Sadie are different I guess... Any who, I remember really liking Howard the Duck ;)

Could be interesting...  the contrast in tone compared to the Stallone Dredd is striking, but I'll have to see more to get a feel for it.  I always thought Stallone Dredd was self-aware camp and violence combined in flawless 80's style.  This looks like it's trying to be serious.

Also, the plot looks very similar to "The Raid Redemption"

Look, I like Karl Urban... I really do... but stop making crappy movies.

lol, truth.  What's the last thing he did that was actually decent?  LotR?

Groundhog day was on again last night.  That's always been one of those "well, i'm sitting in front of the TV for the next 2 hours" kind of movies when i find out its on.

I wish Bill Murray would quit with the "weird", and deep comedies he's been making the last 15 years and realize A. He's not too good for studio comedies and B. He's perfect in them. I get they are critically acclaimed and all that crap, but give me Groundhog Day or any non-surreal 80s Murray any day of the week. Crap, he's the jerk holding Ghostbusters 3 up. First he'll do it, then he's too good for it. I think he's great as a comedian and all, but he's obviously a total jerk in real life. And I say that despite him being my favorite actor growing up, largely due to Venkman and GD. His new film with Willis looks like the same old same old.

Yeah, that totally skipped my mind. But that's exactly what I'm talking about. Make movies with roles like that, not life Aquatic and the new Willis movie. His only other wide release I recall was Garfield, the biggest PoS ever and a voice only role. More "normal" movies plz. And freaking make Ghostbusters 3!

Check out this list of the greatest real-life Bill Murray stories ever told. The guy's insane, and I mean that in both a good and a bad way at the same time. My favorite is the one where he goes to a college party, washes the dishes in their kitchen, and leaves.

Ted is a longer, slightly unfunnier version of Family Guy.

It's fine. But I doubt I'll watch it again.
