Just watched it on the tv from HBO. I imagine those air battles were intense on a big screen.

I highly recommend Deadpool 2, rated R (for violence and many f-words.) I actually didn't care for Deadpool. Deadpool 2 had me laughing out loud all the way through it. Well written and good performances. The use of certain songs to create laughs was absolutely inspired.

The storyline given to actress Zazie Beetz as Domino was worth the price of admission... "What's your super power?"

That movie had me laughing.  It was also funny to see the Basic Instinct bit go over all the young peoples head.

Dying to see it, mainly because I’d be entertained watching Donald Glover read the phone book :)

I dont know if this belongs here but: https://www.dailywire.com/news/32378/report-disney-considers-firing-kathleen-kennedy-paul-bois

Good on Disney. I tried to tell others that there more than just SJW issues from TLJ, but people didnt want to listen. It had huge plot holes, made a mockery of the most beloved character in the franchise,  and destroyed any kind of legacy

I used my 17 hours of flying to-from Europe to watch some of the Oscar nominees from this past year:

- Lady Bird - ok, but not nearly as good as say Breakfast Club.
- The Shape of Water - again, OK, but the main villain wasn't believable, and I felt at times like I was watching a remake of Splash, ET, or the second Planet of the Apes.  The story has been done countless times before, heck even in Short Circuit
- Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - this was fantastic, great acting by Woody Harrelson and a very powerful story.  Definitely a tough movie to watch in scenes.  Still there were some flaws, and it would have been better if it ended a few scenes earlier, I didn't like the ending.

Went to see BlacKkKlamsman tonight. Spike Lee does not mess around.  John David Washington was brilliant as Ron Stallworth, the black undercover cop who joined the KKK by simply responding to a classified ad.  So was Topher Grace as David Dukkke.  Most of the movie is a good balance of light/campy and heavy/dark but the end is raw, emotional and real. It will stay with you.

First time at the Landmark in the  Atlantic Plumbing building. Next door to the 9:30 Club. There is a swanky bar area for drinks/light plates before the show (solid beer selection with mostly locals on tap). The theatres themselves are quite small, seating about 50, with oversized leather lounge chairs (not recliners). Ticket price was around $13 which isn’t that much more for a non-3D first run at the Regal with standard stadium seating. The concession prices are comparable too. Popcorn was super fresh and they had a small selection of canned beer to take into the theatre (or buy their sippy cup and take your cocktail from the bar). I’d definitely see another film there, and since I live pretty close, it may become my new default theatre (except for 3D stuff, I don’t think they have a 3D screen).

Went to see BlacKkKlamsman tonight.

My SO and I are seeing it tomorrow. I'm surprised isn't playing at E Street Cinema. I've heard good things. My mom saw it, and she said it made her cry.

He’s not of this world. That’s the only way to explain it.

Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords did a nice job with the Bowie tribute song too.

Crazy Rich Asians is incredibly good.

Now hopefully they'll release an Indian version. I'll volunteer to be an extra.  :hysterical:

We saw Crazy Rich Asians this afternoon and both rated it a 3-4 on a scale of 1 to 10.  It could have been much funnier and not so full of complaining.

I tried to get the missus to go see that at the matinee (discount) on Tuesday.    She had no interest  ...

The Indian film industry is WAY ahead on something like Crazy Rich Asians. Probably 40% of Bollywood films involve elaborate weddings or other parties, with lavish dress, food and dancing.

The all-Asian cast is what has people most excited.
